Leaf Bio’s PEF (polyethylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate) material has successfully completed the food-contact safety evaluation conducted by the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment and is set to be included under the National Standard GB 4806.7 – Food Contact Plastic Materials and Articles, securing official clearance for its commercial use in food-contact applications across the Chinese market.[1]
Under the GB 4806.7, food-contact grade PEF is approved for deployment in high-barrier containers, films, and various food packaging configurations, fully complying with national food safety specifications and migration limits.[2]
